The Phonics Hike Early Literacy Program is designed for preschoolers.
As the next generation of live online literacy programs, we incorporate Story Time, Arts, Early Comprehension and Technology into our reading curriculum for kids as young as 5 to 7 years old.The Montessori Phonics Methodology, which is over a century old and renowned for its effectiveness, forms the foundation of our curriculum.
There are a total of 4 modules for this programme.Each Module will take about 3 to 4 months to allow students to grasp the concepts well and progressively attain fluency in reading before advancing to the next level.
(Sound of the Alphabets)
Learn the Single Letter sounds from a to z. The Letters of the alphabets will be introduced by sound and not the letter name. Gradually, the students will learn to associate each letter with the corresponding sound.As part of the lesson, students will also be taught how to trace the alphabets correctly.
(The Pink Series)
The focus of the students' learning is on decoding (reading) three-letter words arranged consonant-vowel-consonant.This series aims to assist students in acquiring the skill of decoding words that contain short vowel sounds.
(The Blue Series)
When the students are familiar with the CVC words, they can now move on to blending more sounds together.Blends are usually composed of 2 or 3 consonants that can appear at the beginning or at the end of a word.
(The Green Series)
Students need to attain fluency in reading the consonant blends to advance on to the Green Series.This series will introduce more challenging words that has phonograms and silent vowels.
